I’m looking forward to trying the charred salad and sweet potato recipes! When you write mustard powder, is that the same as black mustard seeds ground into powder? Thanks!🙏

Hi Sara! I used Colman's Dry Mustard Powder which his made from yellow mustard seeds but ground black mustard seeds will work just as well in this recipe. Yellow mustard and black mustard have a different flavor, but both will work well with the other spices in this stew. In fact, black mustard might work even better. Does that answer your question? Please let me know if you have any more questions and I'd love to hear what you think of both of these recipes! So nice to have you here!

Thank you! I’m accustomed to cooking Asian, European and Middle Eastern dishes so mustard powder is a new discovery for me!

Wonderful idea, story and terrific photos. Food is so difficult to make look good in photos. I could climb in here and enjoy the stew!

Thank you for the mention and for another fantastic post! You always make me stop and reflect.

Also, I can't help but mention, that in the serial killer romance I'm reading right now one of the killers often invites strangers to dinner. I think it's funny how my mind immediately went there after reading this post. Maybe I shouldn't read any more dark romance?! lol.

Right back at you, friend. Also - 😂😂😂 ! Your introverted brain was like, "I can tell you're reflecting on inviting people over more often but let me remind you why that's a terrible idea."

Also… now that I’ve had a chance to read the whole issue, I couldn’t agree more (shocker). Connect more, make things into a big deal less. Got it. ♥️

I have learned and keep learning so much from YOU about the importance connection above everything else.

Thank you so much for these kind and encouraging words Sheryl! Where are you located? Imagine the meal the two of us could cook up together one day!

Ugggh! I’m so guilty of wanting dinner to be a perfect event rather than a relaxing time of connection with guests. I love how you just spontaneously invited your RV neighbors. I’m sure they were blessed with what you made - and that soup and chocolate cobbler are going on my list of things to cook this week!

You get me. I think I need a new tattoo on my arm that says something like... Chill the fuck out, Rebecca. 😂 Can't wait to hear what you think of the cobbler and the stew!

Can definitely relate to what you say here about treating having people over for dinner as an event; something that has to be planned and prepared for. I’m trying to get myself out of that mindset and this is a great reminder!

To repeat what I said to another commenter, I think I need a new tattoo on my arm that says something like... Chill the fuck out, Rebecca. 😂

If you like sweet potatoes as much as I do I think you'd love it! But even my husband liked it and he's not a big fan of sweet potatoes.
