So many delicious recipes as usual! Rebecca, I really love the travel photos you are sharing. They give us all a peek into other parts of the country and the beauty that can be found there.
Thank you so much Betty! It can be tricky, as I'm sure you know, to know if what I'm writing about is what others want to read. I appreciate knowing that you enjoy that part of the newsletter!
I needed this wisdom today, thank you 💕 I’ve been screaming into a pillow in my closet for three days straight and I have felt so lost. Thank you for helping me pull myself out of my grief hole this morning.
Same, friend. We are headed for a rough few years and the only way we're going to survive it is to stick together. I don't think everything is going to be ok. I think things are going to get pretty bad. But, we are going to be ok because other people will remind us who we are. ❤️
I'm so sorry to hear you've had to deal with unkind comments recently. That never feels good. You're one of the bright lights in my Substack feed. Your goodness without pretense, your thoughtfulness and introspection, are deeply appreciated. I know you won't let the unkind among us get to you, but still, it never hurts to say: stay strong and remember what an incredible person you are. <3
Thank you so very much Christina. Right back at you. In some ways, I always appreciate it when someone identifies themselves as hateful right from the start. It makes it easier to just delete the comment and move on. No wasted energy. They are not my people and never will be. I am realizing that it also works in the reverse - the more forthright I am about who I am and what I stand for the easier it is to find kind, thoughtful, generous friends like you. Because you are my people.
Honored to be a part of your list and to have connected with you at just the right time. 🤍 Our girls are the light in all of this darkness. We will stoke their embers together.
Yes, yes, yes! I also shared your poem on my personal facebook page (with a link to your substack) and it has touched many people there as well. Keep writing my friend.
I am with you 100% Charles. I am willing to engage with people who disagree with me on pretty much anything as long as they are the kind of person with which I can have an honest, open conversation that is about understanding each other more deeply. I am completely unwilling to engage with people who just want to argue or advance their own agenda with complete disregard to my thoughts and ideas. I know several people who are capable of patiently engaging with anyone, but I'm not one of them. :-)
But, like you, I have found many, many incredible people here. My goal is to fill up my life with as many of them as possible. I am happy you're here.
