The enthusiasm with which you and Steve live life is absolutely intoxicating. I read, I absorb, and find myself slowly making changes to live life a little more like the two of you!

And these recipes are so easy and so delicious looking, I can't wait to try them.

You guys will an Explorer award of some kind.

I bought This Will Make You Happy from Kitchen Arts & Letters when it published. Admittedly, I didn't give it enough time because I just couldn't get into the depressive aspect of it. Besides, I was reading The Editor which was glorious. Perhaps I should try again.

🎶Sail away, sail away, sail away…

Highly, highly recommend. It’s hard to imagine how one person could drive the careers of over 170 world-class authors.

As a young employee of Doubleday in France - before her illustrious 56-year Knopf career - she dug out The Diary of a Young Girl (Anne Frank) from the discard stack and pressured her boss, who had already said no, to send it to Doubleday in New York to be published. It had already been published in small runs in Europe.

Translated into 70 languages. She’s the reason it was published. Her French boss never credited her.

I have not read The Editor but just added it to my to-read list! It looks wonderful! Perhaps it will be one of the books I bring with me on our sailing trip to Door County!

I am obsessed with that video. I could just have it on loop all day long. We were sailing with friends on the weekend and the magic of a sunset sail is something that fills my cup to brimming over. Can't wait to see more of your summer adventures.

I love the sound of those cherry muffins! I'm not sure if I missed it somehow, but I can't seem to see the note that relates to eliminating the spices from the muffin mix. Also, have you tried this recipe using sour cherries? You are in the cherry capital in Michigan, after all! 🍒

How fun that you were also sailing this weekend! One of these days it would be fun to have you on board with us. I KNOW we'd have the best time. In the recipe for the muffin mix I suggest adding a half teaspoon of nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger, or cloves. For the cherry muffins, I suggest you leave that out. But, I don't think that was very clear. I updated the recipe notes to hopefully make it more so. Thank you for the question! Let me know if I misunderstood. :-) I haven't tried these using sour cherries yet! But as you say, we are in the right place to try it!

OMG we would LOVE to go sailing with you two adventurers! One can dream…

Thanks for the recipe update…I will check it out. Cherries are perhaps my all time favourite fruit and I love the idea of having muffin mix ready to go 💕

That first longer sail - day sail, cruise, overnight, whatever it is - is a MASSIVE milestone. So excited to watch your cruising season evolve!

It’s so exciting!!!! And a little bit nerve-racking. Truly, following you gives me so much confidence. I see what you’re doing and think, “I can do this.”

I’ve read the first book in Thursday Murder Club and watched the movie! Such a fun one! Excited for your multi-day trip across Lake Michigan - wow wow wow! I love how you and Steve just go for it, all gas, no brakes. One day I want to be like you, my friend!💞
