Cocooned and candle lit. I felt that line in my whole body, Rebecca. My version is a dark November morning, tea steaming, everyone else still asleep, the world out there and me in here. Thank you for naming that soft and solid kind of happiness so beautifully.

Isn’t it just so delicious? Thank you for letting me know that you get it, that you feel it too. I am generally an early riser and I also love those cold, dark mornings when it feels like I am the only one in the world who is awake. If that’s not happiness, I don’t know what is.

First of all I love your hair. You did not make a mistake. I loved your story about your sense of being cocooned in your little safe world. Nature does that for me. That’s where I feel the most at peace. Surrounded by trees and water. I used to camp a lot as a child and boy did you bring me right back to that campground. I loved the sound of the gravel crunching as walkers went by. The smell of a morning fire. The sounds and smells of the campground coming to life. Those were the sounds of my childhood. Those were my safe place.

Thank you Melissa! I have so little experience with short hair that I am struggling to feel like I got the right cut. But it's just hair, right? It will grow! :-)

I am so glad that this post brought back such happy memories! You know, it's funny, Steve and I were never campers. And yet, all the things you mention here are all the reasons why I love living in campgrounds. I've had so many moments of pure joy for all the sounds and smells (especially the smell of campfires) in a campground. One of the best things is that everyone is usually happy to be there and sometimes that energy is palpable.
