First off, the photos are gorgeous...yours and hers. I'm looking forward to watching how your styles diverge over time and seeing the differences. As my boys grow and prepare to leave, I love the idea thar maybe one day we will get to creatively come back together ❤️
Thank you Kalee! No one tells you how to navigate the relationship with your kids when they are grown but also not, adults but also still children, grownups but also still your kids. It’s often felt like walking a tightrope to me. But, in the past couple of years, we’ve all kind of found our footing. Working with our youngest is both terrifying and so gratifying.
Ok let’s talk about that pumpkin pie photo!!! Girl, I know exactly how you feel - my first food photos were hilariously bad (too close! too dark! and gave a “what am I looking at here” vibe, lol). And I’m so happy for you that your girl is taking over the photography for you. How awesome that you get to work together! 🙌
Ha! Yes! There is such a big gap, when you’re starting out, between what you know is possible and how to achieve it! It seems like something that should be so easy, but it’s so hard. 😂 And thank you, my friend. It’s delightful to get to work with her.
This post made my heart swell. I’m currently sitting outside the changing room of a thrift store, waiting for my two girls to try on their finds. Reading this felt divinely timed, reminding me of the magic of these girls and this moment (my eleven year old just popped her head out with such a smile).
I love the story of your photography journey, and how you’re passing it along. Well done to your daughter on those photographs!
And yes, these glimmers, these girls. This is happiness.
So well said, my friend. I have been repeating the phrase, “this is happiness” so often since I read your post. Even during mundane, monotonous moments. And even then, it’s true and the reminder has been so good for me.
It’s interesting how fulfilling it is to have her working with me. I’m not sure I expected that. I am actually sipping that matcha banana shake this very moment. Hope the matcha lovers in your life enjoy it too!
Aw, love this—and Anne’s photos are beautiful! 😍 I’m also pretty excited to try that matcha banana shake as an afternoon pick-me-up. Looks soooo good!

I love that you both get to share in these memories together. That is something very special. Your daughters share your same beautiful smile😁
Thank you so much Melissa. ❤️

How fun that you get to work with your daughter, I'm sure you two will have lots of laughs and adventures as you create together.
Thanks for the matcha recipes, sharing with the matcha lovers in my life!
