Issue #33, January 11, 2025: Hello from San Diego, What is a supper club?, Featured member, How to make fresh pasta, Supper club pasta recipes, + A recipe from the new cookbook
I am looking forward to our dinner this weekend! The Lost Supper Club is such a fantastic idea. I love the thought of meeting new people and especially trying new and delicious recipes. I can't wait to meet you and your husband in person!
We had our first Lost Supper Club dinner last night and it was a blast! 6 people showed up at our place as strangers and left as friends. I'll write about it next week but it was so much fun.
You’ve inspired me to try starting an Indian supper club. I’m too scared that the people I invite will say no. Or that I won’t get enough people who are keen. But I want to try. In the void of a secret cake club an Indian food club sounds like fun.
These are some lovely and very inspiring supper club ideas, Rebecca. You've really given me something to think about. I used to teach yoga and I so miss the connection I had with my students. Maybe a supper club with friends could fill the void. Thank you for sharing! x
There really was something special about my book club (aka, a supper club of book lovers). It's an experience we never would have had without the scheduled monthly meetings. I looked forward to those meetings every month!
Thank you for the mention. I love this idea of yours. Bringing people together, making new connections and learning from each other. During my Clandestine Cake Club years and Secret Tea Room years - tea and cake in my own home, I connected with so many people I would never have met otherwise, and they, too, made new connections. Arriving as strangers, and leaving as friends.
Rebecca and Steve, Can’t wait to have you back at our table! This concept is so endearing and you are the perfect person to put it in play. The idea of embracing new friends, and introducing them to old, is the joy that warms my heart. Cheers to Finding your Lost Supper Club! ❤️
Thank you friend! I can't wait to be seated back at your beautiful table. You are truly the queen of Southern hospitality and I'm so excited to introduce you to all the other Lost Supper Club members!
Love the idea of a supper club! We often play host to gatherings for my son's friends, but we don't really do anything for the family at large. I don't think I know anyone who would want to put the effort in to making something for a club like this, though I do know people who would happily let me make it all haha!
I think that’s key- having a group where everyone is equally invested. Otherwise, it’s just hosting dinner parties for everyone else. If your supper club is more like a restaurant, you should charge per plate. 😂

"Arriving as strangers, and leaving as friends" - what could be better?

I wish I could be there with you two!
Wouldn’t that just be so fun?!
Me too!!! Even better - I wish Betty and I were headed to Italy to have dinner with you!
You both just let me know when you book your tickets and it will be ON! 😍
I am so looking forward to it!!!

Haha! Isn’t that the truth? It makes it extra special when we find ppl who are just as invested as we are in an idea or event!
As you say, Betty, it's essential to have people who are just as invested in what you are doing.
Yes! I need to find one or two of these people.
Or join us in New Orleans next month at mine!😍 #RouxAndChouxSocialClub #lostsupperclubNOLA
I can't wait!!!
