I can see why these are the favorites. I'm planning on trying the krautburger and adding the peanut butter frosting to my banana cake recipe. Thank you!
Your RV is soooo cute! I didn’t realize it was dark throughout… very dark academia and moody of you, and I LOVE it. 😍
My uncle showed me his Winnebago tonight. It was awesome and now I really, really want something small like that for us to use for trips. Seems so doable!
You’ll be happy to know I’m making some of your Christmas cookies for my sister’s Friendsmas on the 20th, so I’ll tag you in the photos. I hope to do you proud! 🤣
I feel the same way about decorating—it’s gorgeous but so time-consuming. We usually do a tree, a wreath, and whatever ornaments already have hooks because I’m lazy. Now that we own a house again, though, there is a part of me that wants to go all out. But next year. 🤣
Thank you so much, friend! When we first moved into the RV, I painted everything white. I thought that's what you were supposed to do with a small space. But, we kinda hated it. It took a few versions before I realized how cozy darker colors can be in small spaces. And now we love it.
Honestly, the biggest obstacle for me with Christmas decorations is putting them away. I'm very inspired at the start of the season and then after Christmas I'm completely over it. Happy cookie baking!!! I wish I could come over and sample a few!
Lovely, homey decorations. All you need to wrap that festive spirit around you. And may I say thank you for the banana snack cake. Pure genius, that name. Like, whenever anyone (like my post-menopausal metabolism) asks, "Wait, are you eating CAKE?!" I can answer in all truthfulness, "Oh, this? No, this isn't dessert...it's just a snack." Case closed.
That list is a great reminder that I still need to make the blueberry pie cookies - yum. Also! I’m absolutely honored that those pulled pork tacos are on your list!!! 🎉
I’m in the same boat, Rebecca, regarding decorations! I’ve always been kind of minimal/normal. But this year, ain’t nobody got time for that. We put the tree up on Dec 1 but currently it’s still nekkid 🫣 lol! I have some twinkly lights and a nativity set out but that’s it. The decor boxes are sitting behind the couch waiting, hahaha! 😂
I get it! Honestly, the worst part for me is taking everything down. I usually (not always) feel inspired at the start of the season and then am completely over it by December 26.
This essay felt like a trip down memory lane. Your in-law’s house sounds like some of the houses I remember as a kid in the Midwest. My childhood home was somewhere in the middle, although my mom laughs at me, because I was the decorating fanatic as a kid. The day after Thanksgiving I’d lug my mom’s 8 (!) huge boxes of decorations from the basement, forcing her to decorate. These days I’m with you - just enough twinkle lights and boughs (but yes, 2 trees) to feel magical, but easy enough to pack away in under an hour. ❤️
I needed a kid like you in my house to do all the decorating for me! That would have been amazing! The last couple of years in our house, we also had two trees because I really wanted a white tree with jewel colored ornaments in the living room, but we also had our normal set of eclectic ornaments that couldn't be ignored, so we put up a second tree in the family room. I never minded putting the trees up... but by the end of the season, I was over it and would have paid someone handsomely to take everything down for me. 😂
Those little trees get glitter everywhere, but I don't even care because I love them. :-) My mother in law spends days decorating and then we get to go over to her house and enjoy it, and it really is delightful.
Oh yes, my favorites this year are of course the mushroom ravioli and the blueberry pie cookies - I keep balls of that dough in my freezer for a quick treat with which I use my fig filling. I have some bananas I can’t wait to put in your snacking cake.
Love your cozy and festive RV Xmas decorations—they look amazing! 😍 And a huge yes to that banana snacking cake with peanut butter frosting. One of my favorite sweet treats of the year!

Hooray! Please let me know what you think of both of those recipes!
I will!
I can’t wait for the 2025 cookbook!!

I still dream about those tacos.

Hahaha! True! Although…since getting a fake tree, I leave it up without decorations until the time changes in March 🙊
Hahaha!

Wow, your mother in laws decorating sounds like #goals.
I love your decor in your RV, so twinkly and classy! Those trees with the candles 😍
A splendid round up of recipes, and great lives I am looking forward to catching up on!

The glitter is definitely worth it 😊

Your freezer is a magical treasure trove!
