I LOVE how you described taking things for granted as a luxury. So spot on! It’s easy to lament all the places in Southern California that I’ve not visited (especially famous ones that people pay big money to visit) but the realization that 1) I can always do it another time and 2) maybe I don’t want to visit it because I just don’t care that much is truly a luxurious thought. Have a wonderful trip my friend! 💞

Yes!!! There’s something wonderful about not doing all the things and settling into your favorite, tried and true, comfortable places.

"You are trading the wonder and excitement of a place for that comfortable feeling of home where you take everything for granted because you can."

Yes, and also - noting the wonder in the small things, the ones you look at because you are so familiar with them.

Yes, yes. So true, my friend.

What a great post! Wonderful recipes that are perfect for the season plus that brilliant idea of using pillows as a seat back. Now I'm thinking we need more throw pillows at the cabin.

Thank you Mira! I will always encourage you to get more pillows! 😉

Rebecca… Love the summer recipes.

You had me at “covered in a nutty, toasted coconut crumb topping that you will, from this point forward, want to start putting on everything.”

Love Door County. As you know, Sharon and I are originally from Wisconsin. (we also honeymooned here). We hope that we are not the people that take so many things at this lovely place for granted. Enjoy your whirlwind three days.

I have thought of you often as we planned this trip. When we saw you earlier this year, Door County was not a place we were planning to visit. But when we learned that Steve’s parents hadn’t been there, we jumped on it. I’ll give the peninsula a giant hug for you.

Hello Rebecca! I just wanted to pop in and say that I am disabled and homebound. This I say to let you know how much I enjoy your newsletters and living vicariously through your travels. Love your recipes as well. Thank you for all the entertainment you share with us all. xoxo

Hi Liana! Thank you so much for leaving a note for me. I am truly so glad to know that reading my newsletters brings you joy. Reading your words made my heart swell. For all the ways technology may be hurting us, it also allows us to connect with people we otherwise would not be able to. And that’s beautiful. ❤️

We are beautiful souls, feels funny to say it out loud, but I know it to be true. Love can still be shared and appreciated in these crazy times we are living in. No one can take it away from us. Let the generosity of spirit shine!

Yes! Perfectly said, my friend.
