’s latest cookbook, True North Cabin Cookbook Volume 2.Having spent quite a bit of time in the midwest, I knew what a hot dish was. But, until thumbing through the pages of my copy of Stephanie’s book, I’d not heard of a Juicy Lucy Cheeseburger. I had to look it up. It’s a burger with cheese stuffed inside the patty rather than placed on top. I mean….. yum.
My understanding of a hot dish is that it’s a casserole of sorts with a protein and veggies in a sauce topped with something crispy that is often, but not always, tater tots. BUT, I have lots of questions about this midwestern specialty and I’ll be asking all of them while Stephanie shows us how to make one.
